SafeSend Returns - Features & Changes

SafeSend Returns just released their latest update with new features and functionality for not only the firm’s side, but also for clients. This will have a slight impact on the look of the Taxpayer Experience side, so we wanted to share with you what to expect.

Changes to the Manual Signing / Uploading Process

Changes to Manual Signing Process

Some clients were getting confused by the process of downloading the e-file forms, printing, signing, and uploading the signed e-file forms through SafeSend. Now, if you choose to manually sign the e-file forms (ie. 8879), Safesend will tell you specifically which forms need to be signed and then allow you to upload those without losing track.

Improvements to the Taxpayer “Pay Screen”

Improvements to the Taxpayer “Pay Screen”

The pay screen has been updated to be more clear on which steps clients should take and when payments are due.

  1. There will be a message instructing the taxpayer to select a due date from the left.

  2. The due dates will be broken apart by Tax Year

  3. Estimated Payments will be clearly separated

  4. Taxpayers will have the option to receive payment reminders and they will be found at the top of the screen.

Signer Reminders

Signer 1 can now remind Signer 2 from the Taxpayer side

After the first signer signs the return, they can send a reminder to Signer 2 from their own dashboard. Previously, firm administration would have to do this in order to trigger a reminder.
