Sarah Gray Completes Business Development Certificate Program

Sarah Gray, Marketing Manager of The Doty Group, P.S. the Washington-based accounting and business consulting firm, successfully completed the Association for Accounting Marketing (AAM) Business Developer Fundamentals Certificate program. Gray is one of only 38 business development professionals nationwide to successfully complete this program.

The first of its kind, AAM’s Business Developer Fundamentals Certificate Program is a skill-building certificate program designed for those with business development responsibility within accounting firms. The online-based program was created for business development or marketing executives, directors, managers, or other growth-focused professionals with sales responsibility.

To earn the certificate, Gray successfully completed a 6-week curriculum of self-paced materials, participated in weekly expert hours facilitated by various subject matter experts, and passed both weekly quizzes as well as a final exam.

Gray has more than 13 years’ experience in marketing, as well as 8 in accounting, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Baker University (Baldwin City, Kansas). As the Marketing Manager at The Doty Group, Gray is responsible for growth strategies involving digital and traditional marketing, brand ambassadorship, community involvement, and client experience.

Over the past six weeks, participants have been working to develop their business development skill set and acumen. The curriculum was designed to address important topics such as setting growth goals and priority targets, managing a pipeline and leading strategic opportunities and coaching teams and individuals to maximize performance.

“This certificate program helps participants become leaders for growth within their respective firms” said, Becca Johns, AAM President. “We are proud of the first group of participants to complete this program and we applaud participating firms for investing in their teams and nurturing their desire to develop professionally.”
