Earlier this month, Doty Valuation Analyst Nic Townsend-Falck presented at a lunch and learn for members of the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber. He led a presentation and workshop about Inclusivity and Diversity in the Modern Workplace.

Nic’s Lunch & Learn led attendees through

  • a working vocabulary of preferable language surrounding marginalized identities,

  • resources to better understand state and federal policies and laws designed to protect people with marginalized identities,

  • encouragement of appreciation for diversity among employees and efforts to create more inclusive workplaces,

  • how to recognize personal implicit/unintentional biases and the impact they have in the workplace,

  • and best practices for designing an inclusive and diverse workplace
