Firm Celebrations
In August of 2018, we held a Centennial party at West of the Waterway, joined by our friends, family, partners & clients. We’re a team of extraordinary work ethic, so we let ourselves enjoy the moment every now and again.

Tacoma Chamber's 2019 Workwell Awards
Paul accepting our Gold category WorkWell award. We also won a Gold award in the Happy Heart category.

Saint Patrick's Day
Karl played leprechaun and the firm took a timeout after the March 15th deadline with some green punch, cookies, and a socially distant photo booth.

Charity Events
Year-round, we participate in group events as a firm to show our support and raise funds to help local charities. In July you can catch our team racing go-karts at Woodworth Family Foundation’s ‘Race for the Clubs’ which benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound. In 2017 we won Best Team Name & Costume with “Let’s Get Fiscal,” then in 2018, we won Best Costume with our Mario Kart-themed attire as “the Super NintenDoty Group.”

Tax Season Lip Sync Battle

Office Olympics
During busy season, we hold ‘minute to win-it’-style office olympics and compete for gift cards and other prizes. During this game, we closed our eyes and drew a scene that was being described to us, then laughed about the results.

Blue Fridays
We fully support our Hawks on Fridays during football season!

Saint Patrick's Day Bingo
On Saint Patrick’s Day, we take an afternoon to recover from the March 15th deadline and enjoy a friendly (but competitive!) session of office Bingo (with cash and fabulous prizes).

NASS Corporations for Charities
The culture of giving at our firm is one of the most rewarding things about working at The Doty Group. We take pride in supplying opportunities for our staff to give back via volunteer work and donations. In 2018, we were awarded the NASS Medallion - Corporations for Charities Award from Kim Wyman, WA Secretary of State.

Get Movin'
April can be a pretty stressful time for CPAs. We fight the deadline dread (for April as well as others) by taking advantage of initiatives such as ‘Active April’ to make sure we’re staying healthy. A group at the firm gathers daily to do planks together, and we’ve even got groups that run and work out together at the Tacoma Center YMCA, which sits virtually right next to our parking lot.

Broadway Farmer's Market
One of our favorite perks of working in Downtown Tacoma is the proximity to the Broadway Farmer’s Market, May thru October. Thursday flowers and produce are the best way to take a break.

2nd Annual Young Lawyers Formal Casino Night: Casino Royale
We recently sponsored a Texas Hold 'Em table at the 2nd Annual Young Lawyers Formal Casino Night: Casino Royale, hosted by the New and Young Lawyers Section of Tacoma-Pierce County Bar Association.

Administrative Professionals Day
Admin Day comes but once a year! TDG never misses a moment to make a toast to the crew that holds it all together.

Spirit Week
For the week leading up to Halloween, we dress up for themed days and hold a food drive for a local food bank. As are many of our fun activities, we keep it interesting with some friendly competition via a raffle with awesome prizes and a Halloween Costume contest.

Commitment to Community
As a firm, we’re passionate about current events and issues in our community. Our leadership and staff are active in the local business community, representing our vocational and community service interests.

Family Day at Rainiers Game
Because TDG is all about supporting us and our families, we take an afternoon off each summer to have a family picnic and take in a Tacoma Rainiers game, complete with gift bags for the kiddos, balloon animals, and face painting. In 2018, the team surprised us with a bouncey house, which was a huge hit.

Doty Dogs
Whether we are participating in charitable events or volunteering our time to pet-oriented organizations, our crew loves their pups!

Youth Leadership
Education and leadership opportunities are highly valued at TDG. We engage in speaking and leadership opportunities within our field and beyond. Here is TDG Valuation Analyst Nic Townsend-Falck at a Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership event.

Holiday The Doty Way
From Valentine’s Day flowers to Easter Bunny Paul and Secret Santa, we enjoy holidays with our little Doty traditions.

Ski Trip to Sunriver
To kick off the beginning of each year, our crew takes a road trip to the ski resort of Sunriver, OR near Bend. We have a weekend of fun and bonding before it’s time to pack it in for tax season.

Organization of Giving
As individuals and as an organization, we don’t feel like we’re doing what we’ve set out to do unless we’re making contributions to folks who give everything to those in need. That’s why we are happy to support organizations such as REACH Ministries (Executive Director Dan Stoehr, above), South Sound CARE Foundation, and more.

Social Causes
We dress up for fun days at the office, but we also dress up and share support for causes such as Go Red For Women.

Top Places to Work 2012, 2016, 2017
There is a reason we've won several "Top Places to Work" awards in the Appreciation category. Along with competitive salaries, our full time employees enjoy a robust benefits package that includes health and wellness, dental, vision, vacation, sick leave, and a plan for retirement.
