The Doty Group Expands Its Team By 5!

Your go-to team at The Doty Group recently had a growth spurt! Over the month of July we welcomed 3 new team members and rearranged our roster after our 2 dedicated Tax Season Interns committed to joining the team full-time! Now, for introductions…

Alexa Herrmann

Alexa joined The Doty Group in January of 2020 as a tax season intern. She graduated from UW Tacoma in 2020 with her Bachelor’s in Accounting and is currently pursuing her Masters in Accounting. She is a native to Tacoma, where she has continued her involvement in the local community in many ways. She volunteers with the Tacoma Youth Symphony Orchestra, Tacoma Rescue Mission and Point Defiance Zoo. Alexa is looking to develop her public accounting experience and eventually specialize in Tax as a part of our team at Doty.

Daniel Beasley, MAcc

Daniel Beasley also joined the firm as an intern for the eventful tax season of 2020. Now a full-time Staff Accountant, he earned his Bachelor’s of Accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage in 2019, and his Masters of Accounting at UW Tacoma earlier this year. Dan is originally from Anchorage, Alaska, loves camping, hiking and building things. He had his eyes set on The Doty Group because of the people and culture, and is looking forward to building his expertise in the Tax department.

Cheryl Mason

Cheryl Mason is the newest member of our Administrative Team. She has over 30 years of experience in the retail industry, and in 2011 received her Bachelor of Business and Accounting from the University of Phoenix. Cheryl is a true Washingtonian who grew up in Auburn and Bonney Lake, cheering on the Seahawks. She also enjoys crocheting and hanging out with her grandchildren and five dogs.

Neely Harding

Neely joined the firm as a Staff Accountant. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Pacific Lutheran University in 2020, with a concentration in Accounting. She has a wide variety of experience, including working with The Kentucky-Indiana chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America. Neely is from Spokane originally, and likes to spend time camping, hiking, reading and traveling. Sports are an important part of her life. She participated in Track and Field in college and played hockey growing up. She loves cheering on the Seahawks and the Gonzaga Bulldogs.

Tyler claus, jd llm

Tyler Claus has joined the Tax team as a Staff Accountant and has a special focus in Trust and Estate matters. He is originally from Washington, and has been living in the Silicon Valley as of late, before returning this year. Tyler has experience working in the legal, tech and real estate fields, and more recently in public accounting. His schooling includes a Bachelor’s degree in Politics from Whitman College, a JD in Taxation from The University of San Diego School of Law, an LLM in Taxation and Certificate of Accounting from The University of Washington. Tyler enjoys traveling, spending time outside and watching the Sounders and Huskies.
