The Doty Group: A Strengths-Based Firm

Here at The Doty Group—we are now officially a strengths-based firm, weaving the transformative Clifton Strengths methodology into the fabric of our organization. This exciting shift has redefined how we approach working groups and departments, fostering a culture that thrives on individual strengths.

As part of this journey, every new hire at The Doty Group is welcomed with the opportunity to take the CliftonStrengths assessment. This insightful tool has become a cornerstone in our commitment to understanding and celebrating the unique strengths and talents of each team member. The results have been nothing short of inspiring, revealing a rich tapestry of strengths that contribute to the vibrancy of our organization.

The Clifton Strengths framework, crafted by Gallup, is renowned for enhancing organizational performance by recognizing and leveraging individual strengths. The Doty Group aims to operate in a workplace where everyone is not only aware of their strengths but is also encouraged to apply them in their roles, driving innovation and efficiency across the board. The CliftonStrengths assessment is a web-based tool that helps identify the strength makeup of leaders and how each team member can contribute to the overall group goals and successful outcomes. The assessment was created by Don Clifton, who led a team of experts to answer what makes a great leader. They found that the most influential leaders invest in strengths, surround themselves with and invest in a great team, and understand their followers’ needs. The assessment is based on decades of data from Gallup polls, 20,000 interviews with leaders, one million work teams, and consultations with 10,000 followers worldwide.

The assessment has been used by many organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, educational institutions, and non-profit organizations. The assessment has been translated into 20 languages by over 25 million people worldwide.

Research consistently underscores the advantages of a strengths-based approach—higher employee engagement, improved collaboration, and enhanced overall performance. Already, we are witnessing the positive impact of this shift in our workplace dynamics. The insights gained from the CliftonStrengths assessment have provided a clearer understanding of the collective strengths within our teams, allowing us to create synergies that lead to exceptional results.

As we move forward, embracing our strengths collectively will undoubtedly propel us to new heights of success. Stay tuned for stories and insights from our team members as we continue this exciting exploration of what it means to be a strengths-based firm.
